CHANDIGARH, Sept 5: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today squarely blamed the Congress, Akalis and AAP for conspiring against farmers and misleading them on the three agriculture bills.
Chugh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the three bills to improve the plight of farmers and to help them double their income. “Farmers welfare has been the top priority of the Prime Minister but political parties like Congress and Akalis are now misleading farmers,” he said.
Chugh questioned Akalis for standing against the bills after initially lending support to them in the Parliament. “Akalis are playing hoax on farmers now,” he said asking what morality Akalis have to oppose the bills now.
Chugh lambasted the Congress and AAP for playing politics over the bills by beguiling farmers. He said Congress in the past never made any effort to improve the fate of farmers and instead drove them to heavy indebtedness with false promises.
Chugh slammed the Congress for make false promises of waiving farmers loans worth Rs 90,000 crores in election manifesto and fooling them for petty electoral gains. He asked the Congress for seeking public apology from farmers for cheating and deceiving them.
All the three agriculture bills are in the interest of farmers and opposition should stop playing politics on them, Chugh added.
