JAMMU, June 13: Rich tributes were paid to veteran Congress leader Chuni Lal Sharma, former Deputy Chairman Legislative Council and former District president Congress Jammu (Urban) in a meeting held today at PCC headquarters here to commemorate his 23rd death anniversary.
A two- minute silence was also observed to pay respect to the departed leader. The senior Congress members while paying tributes to Chuni Lal Sharma described him as a symbol of simplicity, honesty who dedication his whole life for strengthening the party. He fought communal forces to upheld the banner of secularism and socialism, the leaders added.
All the speakers stressed for unity in the party and said that the best tributes to Chuni Lal Sharma would be to follow his foot prints and work unitedly for strengthening the party, ignoring all differences.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included Raman Bhalla, Anil Chopra, Krishan Lal Gupta, BB Gupta, Madan Lal Malagar, Dr Ramakant Khajuria, Gourav Chopra, Jawaharlal Kaul, Sunil Kumar, Chanchal Popli, Prabha Slathia, Naresh Maini, Pawan Dev Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, Pradeep Bhagat, Babu Singh, Ram Prakash Magotra and Kirti Gupta besides family members of the departed leader.
