BHADERWAH, Oct 9: The tehsil unit of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC organisations held a one day conference on the topic ‘Save Reservation’ to mobilize the cadre for disseminating among the common masses the developments against implementation of reservation in the country and the State.
The conference was organised under the chairmanship of State president, RK Kalsotra.
The major issues discussed during the conference were reservation in recruitment under Rehbar-e-Taleem, Sehat and Zirat, Adhoc or temporary appointments, Anganwari workers, SPOs, NRHM and other State and Central schemes funded by the Government, failure of the Government to implement special component plan within stipulated time, reservation in promotion in all departments, stoppage of tampering with SRO 110 of 2000 and correction in seniority list.
Addressing the participants, Kalsotra attributed the dishonesty of the incumbent Government as the only reason in non-implementation of special component plan for SC/STs. He directed the cadre to fight tooth and nail to protect reservation by involving the common masses and making them aware of the loss being caused by the ruthless and illogical policies of the Government.
Kalsotra further hoped that the legislators belonging to these classes will take up issues of SC/ST/OBCs in the Assembly session.
State organising secretary, Gaddi/Sippy Tribe Welfare Association, Parveen Jaryal, extending his support to ‘Save Reservation’ rally to be organised on New Delhi, demanded the State Government to release scholarship for Gaddi/Sippy Tribe students, which was stopped by the State Government from 2007.
President, Gujjar Association, Jan Mohd demanded to start Gojri programs on All India Radio Bhaderwah.
President, Watal Association, Ashiq Ali demanded reservation under SC category for the Watal community.
