JAMMU, May 18: All India Confederation of SC, ST, OBC organisations, led by state president, RK Kalsotra, and joined by B L Bhardwaj, Bansi Lal Choudhary, Amir-ud-Din Kasana, Dr Ramesh Kaith, Prabh Dayal, Ravi Panghi, Shiv Kimar Karayal, Ravi Pushey, today said that under Chief Justice of India, BR Gavai, Confederation expect more inclusive justice, transparent, and responsive to the aspirations of all sections of society, especially the marginalized and historically disadvantaged communities.
He said the Judiciary stands as the final bastion of justice and equity in our democratic setup. As such, it must also reflect the diversity and inclusive spirit of our Constitution.
Kalsotra said that the Confederation had previously met the Chief Justice of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on 30th Oct, 2024 and highlighted the various issues like implementation of Reservation in promotions, installation of a bust of Dr BR Ambedkar to highlight his achievements, strict implementation of SC/ST Atrocities Act, a revision in the collegium system for appointment of judges, representation of SC/ST/OBC, minorities & women’s in the judicial systems.
All the issues raised by the Confederation were also addressed by Minister of State for Law and Justice and he had recommended them to the Chief Justice of High Court J&K as well as the Chief Secretary of J&K. Kalsotra said that they hope and believe that with the appointment of new CJI, these issues will be dealt with in an effective manner and necessary interventions will be made at all levels for maintaining the principles of constitutionalism as enshrined by Dr BR Ambedkar.
