RAMBAN, July 25: The conductor of a stranded truck was crushed to death under his own vehicle while changing its tyre in Karol area.
According to a police official, the mishap occurred today at about 12:45 PM at Karol near Jaswal Bridge when a truck bearing registration number UP11AT-8046, being driven in a rash and negligent manner from Jammu towards Srinagar, hit another stationary truck.
“As the conductor of the stationary truck was changing the tyre of his vehicle, he came under the tyre and died on the spot,” the official said, adding the deceased was identified as Fayaz Zamam (21) son of Fazal -ul Rehman, resident of Busgam (Baramullah).
The official said that the body of the deceased was shifted to nearby Government Hospital for postmortem while a case FIR No 63/2019 under Sections 279/304-A RPC was registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
