JAMMU, Aug 7: The two-day conclave of RSS think- tank, ‘India Foundation’, concluded today at Patnitop with discussion on various issues confronting the society, nation and the Government.
Even as BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav, who heads the India Foundation, claimed that the conclave had nothing to do with “Kashmir issues”, sources said that the current situation in Valley and the way forward were deliberated upon by various thinkers in the presence of some top BJP and RSS leaders at the conclave.
“Thinkers Meet held at Patnitop is an annual event. Nothing to do with Kashmir issues except that d venue is in d State. No kite flying,” Ram Madhav tweeted today.
The issues, which were officially discussed during the conclave, included ‘Impacting the National Discourse’, ‘Academic Institutions: Controversies, Challenges & The Way Forward’, ‘Mainstream Media (MSM): Issues, Articulation & Personalities vis-a-vis the Art of Narrative Building’, ‘Role of Social Media—Construction & Manipulation of Dominant Narratives’, ‘Effective Nationalistic Intervention in Literary Area (Songs, Cinema, Theatre, Books etc.)’, ‘Social Integration and Dalits’.
Sources said that the conference was held behind closed doors amid tight security and even top police officers were not allowed to enter the hotel complex, where it was held.
Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani had attended inaugural session of the event yesterday. Besides Ram Madhav, RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale took part in the deliberations of the conclave , which was attended by around 70 thinkers, intellectuals and journalists.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh was scheduled to participate in the concluding session but he could not make it up due to closure of the National Highway.
According to the sources, neither any resolution was passed at the conclave nor any recommendation for a dialogue with separatists was made.
During this 5th edition of Young Thinkers Meet 2016-– young intellectuals affiliated to the Sangh Parivar organizations took part in the two-day deliberations.
