Concern over water scarcity in Jagti township

JAMMU, June 26: The inmates of Jagti township have expressed grave concern over the acute water scarcity being faced by them and have urged the authorities to take immediate steps in solving the problem failing which they will be forced to launch protest.
in a statement, issued here, today Sunil Pandita a social activist said that the people’s miseries have been increased due to water scarcity in this hot and humid temperature and despite the repeated pleas the authorities in the Relief organisation failed to look into the issue.
He said that the Department has failed to handover the water supply of Jagti township to Jal Shakti Department with the result the people living in the township have been put to problems. He demanded immediate handing over of the water supply to Jal Shakti and also construction of bore wells in the area to overcome the water crisis.
