Sir,
This has the reference of the news item “Ex-CEC for compulsory audit of funds received by parties”, DE Oct 25. I think if adopted by our election system it will play the role of a watch dog on our diseased election system and more on the roots and producers of all evil-the political parties”. The political parties are heavily funded by the corporate houses during the time of elections and these funds are further misused by the candidates who are given the party tickets for contesting the election in the form of wine, hefty money packages for the influential person of a particular community who they think will buy vote for them. Sometimes some gifts for the special ones who have hold over a quite number of votes. These political parties when voted to power are forced to take decision in the favour of those big corporate houses mentioned above. Policies are designed to gave maximum profit to them and compromises on the basic needs of the average people and those who live BPL. In my opinion CAG can play a big role in it. Keeping political parties funding under RTI will make a common man aware of every link associated with each and every party. Some times the funds collected by some NGO’s for a special purpose are given to political parties for their gains, this is a complete fraud with both the donors and the so called beneficiaries which are not given their due shares.
May be the time has arrived to bring NGOs under RTI and make their working more transparent to public. I as a common man will highly appreciate if some more discussions and some fruitful exercise will be done in this regard. If such steps will be taken the hope of a common man will rise to power one day and corporate houses will have no effect on the policies designed by the Government.
Yours etc….
