JAMMU, May 28: Leading Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Ranjit Singh, who is associated with Apollo Hospital Amritsar, performed a complex knee replacement surgery at KD Multi-speciality Hospital.
The patient Manjit Kaur from Jammu was suffering from crippling arthritis of both knees and was advised knee replacement by doctors.
She had severe heart disease for which three stents were put in her heart in the past and she also had associated high blood pressure and diabetes. To add to these problems, her weight was also high.
Because of these factors she was very much scared of knee surgery and had decided to go Delhi or some other big city for the surgery but when she knew that such high end surgeries are being done at KD Hospital, Jammu, she changed her mind and consulted Dr. Ranjit Singh for the same.
