SURAJKUND, Dec 25: Gujjar scholar, Dr. Javaid Rahi stated that glorious Gujjar History, nomadic life, pastoral culture and the language (Gojri) ties Gujjar community of entire India in one rope as a vibrant tribal identity of north-western India.
Rahi was addressing Gurjars of 12 States at Surajkund NCR during 2-day National level ‘Gurjar Mahaotsav’ under the supervision of Diwakar Bidhuri.
He stated that though Gujjars have 100s of clans like Khatana, Badahana, Chechi, Gorsi, Bhati, Kassana, Chouhan etc but no hierarchy among these clans is maintained in Hindu, Muslim or Sikh Gujjars which proves that they have a common ancestor.
He impressed upon Gujjars of 12 States of India to start a joint struggle for the inclusion of Gojri in the eighth Scheduled of the Indian Constitution.
