Committees formed for implementation of RDSS

JAMMU, Dec 14: Government of Jammu and Kashmir today constituted the Union Territory Distribution Reforms Committee and District Electricity Committees for effective and smooth implementation of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme notified by the Government of India.
Headed by the Chief Secretary, the Union Territory Distribution Reforms Committee shall review progress of the scheme at UT level and recommend the Action Plan for Administrative Council/Cabinet and DPRs for approval of the Monitoring Committee.
It shall approve changes, if required in the mode of execution with the consent of the Nodal agency besides monitoring the implementation of the Action Plan and the physical and financial progress, including quality of the projects under the scheme.
Administrative Secretaries of the Finance Department, PDD, Forest and Revenue Department are members of this committee.
Each District Electricity Committee , headed by the senior most MP of the district, shall be comprising Chairperson/President of the District Panchayat, senior most representatives of CPSUs of Ministry of Power and NRE located in the concerned district or their nominated officials for the district as the Members while District Collector shall be the Member Secretary and Chief Engineer/Superintending engineer of the DISCOM/PDD as Convener.
The committee shall ensure the involvement and oversight of all Government of India’s schemes, besides, its impact on the provision of these services to the people.
