JAMMU, Dec 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a Union Territory-level Coordination Committee for integration of the Village Prosperity Resilience Plan (VPRP) with the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for the year 2025–26.
The committee will be headed by the Administrative Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, J&K. The Director, IMPARD, J&K will be a member, while the Mission Director, Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), will function as the Member-Secretary.
Other members of the committee include the Director, Panchayati Raj, J&K; Director Agriculture, Jammu/Kashmir; Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, J&K; Director Animal Husbandry, Jammu/Kashmir; Director Industries and Commerce, Jammu/Kashmir; Director Fisheries, J&K; Director Social Welfare, Jammu/Kashmir; Director Handicrafts and Handlooms, Jammu/Kashmir; Director Health Services, Jammu/Kashmir; Member Secretary NREGS; Nodal Officer RSETI, J&K; and representatives from the Department of Horticulture (for MoFPI) and MSME for SFURTI.
According to the terms of reference, the committee will facilitate better coordination among the Department of Panchayati Raj (DoPR), SIRD, SRLM and line departments in preparation and integration of VPRP into the GPDP and the Annual Action Plans of line departments.
It will also monitor implementation of plans, facilitate convergence with Gram Panchayats and concerned departments, and work towards ensuring access to rights and entitlements for all eligible community members.
Further, it will ensure promotion of livelihoods and facilitate implementation of social development plans of VOs on the identified issues and improve public goods, services and resource development at the village level.
