UDHAMPUR, Jan 20: Commissioner, Survey and Land Records, J&K Inder Jeet today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of digitization of revenue records in Udhampur district.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Additional Commissioner in the office of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Regional Director S&LR Udhampur Reasi Ved Parkash, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, and other concerned officers.
The Commissioner S&LR conducted a tehsil-wise review of the digitization process and took stock of data entry, digitization and verification of Jamabandies. He emphasized the importance of timely completion and directed officers to enhance performance levels across all tehsils.
He instructed all Tehsildars to freeze Jamabandies of small villages within a week positively and asked them to minimize discrepancies between Maker and Checker entries.
The Commissioner S&LR further directed officers to furnish a grievance redressal calendar for areas where Jamabandies have been frozen.
During the visit, the Commissioner S&LR also inspected the Tehsil Office Udhampur to review on-ground digitization work.
He stressed on maintaining a proper grievance register and ensuring close coordination among field functionaries to expedite the process while maintaining accuracy. Special instructions were issued to carefully verify entries related to State Land, Kahcharai Land and Departmental Land before freezing Jamabandies.
He also directed ADC, ACR and Sub-Divisional Magistrates to expedite progress and conduct regular review meetings up to the checker level within their respective jurisdictions to ensure smooth and error-free digitization.
