JAMMU, Mar 4: The IQAC of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu organized a one-day comprehensive career counseling session aimed at guiding students toward informed and strategic career choices and job opportunities.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and esteemed guest speakers from various professional backgrounds. The Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, was the chief guest on the occasion. Shoaib Farid, CEO of Wings – Ek Udaan, and Shubam (MBA), Centre Director of Sunya IAS, served as resource persons for the programme. Interactive discussions with the speakers were held on topics such as higher education pathways, entrepreneurship, and preparation for competitive exams.
The session was inaugurated by the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, who emphasized the importance of career planning and the role of such initiatives in shaping students’ futures. Highlighting the rapidly evolving job market, he encouraged students to actively seek guidance and explore diverse career opportunities.
In his talk, Shoaib Farid provided valuable insights into emerging career trends, skill development, and job market demands. Students actively engaged by asking questions and seeking advice tailored to their individual aspirations.
Shubam, during his interaction with the students, guided them about pursuing a career in civil services and the preparations required for the same. He motivated the students to chase their dreams and emphasized making preparation a routine practice. He pointed out that dedication and consistency are the key ingredients for a successful attempt at civil service examinations.
The formal welcome address was delivered by Prof. Ashraf Nawaz, Coordinator of IQAC, while the vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Deepshikha Sharma. The programme was compared by Prof. Shaji Khan. Among those present on the occasion were Prof. Pawan Gupta, Dr. Reena Rani, Dr. Madhu Bala, Dr. Roomi Rani, and others.
