JAMMU, Jan 23: The College Teachers fraternity across J&K has expressed concern over the suspension of Manzoor Ahmad, Assistant Professor in Commerce, GDC Doda, in connection with the unfortunate alleged suicide of a student.
In a handout these teachers stated that such punitive action against a college teacher for performing official duties will severely discourage the entire teaching fraternity, which has consistently remained at the forefront of safeguarding the credibility and sanctity of the examination system.
They further observed that the prevailing developments have created fear and apprehension among teachers, with many expressing reluctance and issuing warnings against being assigned examination duties which may seriously impact the smooth conduct of examinations in future.
