BILLAWAR, July 17: To review the ongoing works under the Public Works Department (PWD) Division, Col Mahan Singh (Retd), chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kathua, today conducted an extensive tour of various Panchayats including Parnalla, Damra East, Palial and Karanwada.
During the visit, the DDC Chairman inspected several important road projects, including the Banhore-Raipur NABARD Road, Lohar Khokha NABARD Road in Plial Panchayat, Mara Patti-Danni Link Road and Dhamlad-Hottar Link Roads being executed under the UT Road Plan.
He reviewed the on-ground progress of these works and issued necessary directions for expediting their completion while maintaining quality standards.
Col Mahan also held a public meeting where he listened to the residents’ issues related to the blacktopping of the Shamshan Ghat Link Road, SC Mohalla Link Roads and the improvement of the Banhore-Plial Road in Damra East Panchayat.
The Chairman took note of these concerns and assured them that he would take up their concerns with the concerned district-level departments for early redressal.
While visiting Karanwada in Sabar Panchayat, he discussed the delay in renovation work of the Primary Health Centre and urged the concerned officials to remove the bottlenecks causing the delay.
The tour concluded with a visit to Parnalla, where the chairman inspected the proposed site for the Khajuria Mohalla Link Road, participated in a public function and paid obeisance at the historic Narsing Bhagwan Mandir at Parnalla Bazar.
Col Mahan was accompanied by Executive Engineer PWD, Qasim Choudhary, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Billawar Sub Division, a team of Assistant Engineers (AEs) and Junior Engineers (JEs).
