POONCH, July 14: Under the guidance of Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary of Health and Medical Education and the supervision of Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, conducted a surprise inspection of the Government Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Surankote to assess the quality of healthcare services being provided to the public.
During the visit, the CMO reviewed a range of facilities and service points within the hospital, including the OPD registration counter, E-Sehaj, X-ray unit, laboratory, dental section, ultrasound, ECG, general OPD, casualty, gynecology OPD, labour room, AB PMJAY SEHAT registration counter, Jan Aushadhi Kendra and the immunization section.
Dr. Khan interacted with medical consultants, doctors, and paramedical staff, emphasizing the importance of punctuality, discipline and maintaining a proper dress code while discharging their duties. He directed staff to work with full dedication and accountability, ensuring all services are delivered efficiently and professionally.
He further instructed the hospital administration to promote registration under health welfare schemes including JK SEHAT App, Tele-MANAS, eSanjeevani and to strengthen Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening initiatives.
Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan reiterated that such surprise visits will continue to keep the system alert and ensure accountability, with the ultimate goal of providing quality, accessible, and patient-centric healthcare across the district.
