POONCH, Jan 21: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, today carried out a surprise inspection of the Government District Hospital, Poonch, to assess healthcare services and patient care.
During his visit, Dr. Khan inspected all wards and key hospital facilities, including the Dialysis Unit, CT Scan, Ultrasound, Operation Theater, Laboratory, NRC, Pharmacy, X-ray unit, and the Ayushman Bharat counter, along with the Out-Patient Department (OPD).
He interacted with doctors and staff, giving on-the-spot directions to ensure cleanliness, proper sanitation, timely OPD services, and friendly patient care. Dr. Khan also instructed the medical superintendent to strictly follow government timings and ensure that patients’ rights are maintained as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
During the visit, the CMO emphasized the importance of efficient hospital management, prompt medical attention, and compassionate care, especially for emergency cases and critical patients. He also highlighted the need for regular maintenance of medical equipment to avoid any disruption in healthcare services.
Dr. Khan further directed the staff to focus on public awareness programs and initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat schemes, ensuring that the community fully benefits from government health services. He appreciated the efforts of the hospital staff but stressed that continuous improvement in service quality is necessary to meet patient expectations.
