CM to introduce 2 bills today

Jammu, Feb 3: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will introduce two bills-one for decriminalising certain offences to further enhance trust-based governance for ease of living and doing business, and another for eliminating discrimination against leprosy-affected patients in the Legislative Assembly tomorrow.

As per the list of business circulated by the Legislative Assembly this evening, Omar will introduce a bill to amend certain enactments of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for decriminalising and rationalising offences to further strengthen trust-based governance and promote ease of living and doing business.
The CM will also move another bill to amend certain enactments of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to eliminate any discrimination or denial of equal treatment for persons affected by leprosy. The bill seeks to address practices that negatively impact such persons, promote segregation and discrimination, and enable the Union Territory to discharge positive obligations through affirmative action.
