JAMMU, May 14: Crossing all limits of propriety as a constitutionally sworn in Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has once again betrayed his desperation to woo the separatist friendly constituency in Kashmir valley and in this no-holds-barred race for one-upmanship over other Kashmir-centric political parties like the PDP, he has gone ahead to issue the most ill-conceived statement that BJP was responsible for the hanging of Parliament terror attack convict Afzal Guru.
This was stated here today by Dr. Jitendra Singh, BJP State Chief Spokesperson & National Executive Member.
Accusing the ruling party of hunting with hounds and runing with hare, Dr. Jitendra Singh asked if the Chief Minister honestly believed in what he is saying, why did he not immediately resign from his post to register his dissent when he was informed by the Union Home Minister that Afzal Guru was going to be hanged. He said that even today if the Chief Minister genuinely believes in what he is saying, why does he not step out of the Coalition Government shared with Congress party to come out on the streets and openly campaign shoulder to shoulder with the relatives and sympathisers of Afzal Guru in Kashmir valley.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said the BJP will never allow the Chief Minister and his henchmen the privilege to have the cake and eat it too, and therefore the party has decided to reach out to the masses, particularly in the Kashmir Valley, to educate them how the ruling National Conference leaders were enjoying all the perks and privileges including ministerial berths through an opportunistic aliance with the Congress party and at the same time speaking the language of separatists to fool the “Aam” Kashmiri. He also questioned the stand of the Congress party vis-a-vis regular anti-India, seditious, unconstitutional and divisive statements emanating from the J&K Chief Minister’s office.
