CLUJ awards winners of Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme

JAMMU, Aug 11: The Department of the Dean Students’ Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ), today hosted a grand award distribution ceremony at Government MAM College, Jammu, to felicitate winners of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme (VBYCP).
The event also witnessed the collective administration of the Viksit Bharat Pledge and the Anti-Ragging Pledge, reaffirming CLUJ’s commitment to fostering a developed, safe, and inclusive academic environment.
Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof K S Chandrasekar and coordinated by the Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare in collaboration with the Directorate of Extension and Outreach, the VBYCP engaged more than 1,800 students through over 25 activities conducted across constituent colleges and schools from July to August 2025. These included the MY Bharat Registration Drive for digital onboarding, pledge campaigns for Viksit Bharat and Nasha Mukt Bharat, anti-drug awareness workshops—where over 600 students pledged a drug-free lifestyle as well as creative competitions such as poster making, slogan writing, debates, skits, and a Youth Parliament.
The ceremony was enriched by cultural performances, including a skit on Nasha Mukt Bharat and a patriotic song presented by the Department of Music.
Chief guest Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner (ACS), highlighted the importance of sustainable growth, community development, and the collective fight against drug abuse.
In his presidential address, Prof K S Chandrasekar commended the students’ spirited participation and reiterated the transformative vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
Guest of honour Prof Sheikh Aijaz Bashir, Director Colleges, HED J&K, spoke about the four pillars of Viksit Bharat and the role of NEP 2020 in shaping India’s educational future.
Earlier, Prof D S Manhas, Dean Students’ Welfare, extended a warm welcome to dignitaries, while Dr Shafia Saleem presented a consolidated report of pre-event activities. The ceremony was attended by the Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deans of Schools, Financial Advisor, Principals of constituent colleges, Heads of Departments, Directors, faculty members, administrative staff, and student awardees. The proceedings were conducted by Dr Revika and Prof Sugandha Mahajan. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof Archana Koul, Principal, Govt MAM College, Jammu.
