JAMMU, Aug 20: Clerical cadre employees of various departments today observed mass casual leave and stage protest demonstration at Panama Chowk near Rail Head Complex here in support of their demands.
The members of clerical cadre under the banner of Coordination Committee of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association led by Ravi Singh Bhau, Sukhbir Singh, Bharat Bhushan, Babu Hussain, Yash Paul Sharma and others assembled at Panama Chowk, on Railway Station Road here in the morning and started protest demonstration.
They were protesting against SRO 333 and seeking amendment in the same. They said that their plea has been set aside in the said SRO and the Government has caused great discrimination against this cadre again. Despite representation to the Governor’s Administration as well their request has not been considered.
The speakers said that clerical cadre is struggling for the removal of pay anomalies since long and many times they were given assurances but they have been denied justice. This cadre which is considered as back bone of any department, has been left to suffer by the bureaucracy. Despite agreement and acceptance of the Government their demand has not been addressed properly. They demanded that Govt should make amendment in the SRO to address their issue of pay anomaly.
Prominent among others who joined included- Gurmeet Singh, Sewa Ram, Ashish Sharma, B B Kotwal, Arun Sharma, Munish Sharma, Onkar Verma, Parkash Singh, Harvinder Singh, Brijesh Mehta, Tilak Raj, Meenakshi Sharma, Anil Singh Slathia, Darshan Lal, Ranbir Singh, Vikas Sharma, Anchal Singh, Avtar Krishan and Anil Kesar.
