JAMMU, Apr 17: Clerical cadre employees from various Government departments and PSUs today observed complete pen down strike and held protest demonstration across the State on the second consecutive day today.
The protest and strike programme was held the banner of Jammu Kashmir Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association (JKLADCSA). The clerical cadre employees of all the departments observed complete strike in support of their demand and observed black day. At Srinagar and Jammu, the protests were held at provincial level while in all other district headquarters including Leh, the employees also staged protest dharnas.
The protest today was held against the Government decision of the Government to implement the 7th Pay Commission without resolving the accepted disparity of the clerical cadre recommended by two empowered committees. They termed it as sheer injustice and deception by the Government despite of promise of its removal with the Pay Commission in the Budget 2017-18. They condemned the statement of present Finance Minister during interview on a TV Channel in which he announced his decision to go ahead with the implementation of 7th Pay Commission without resolving the issue of pay anomalies.
They reminded that even the former Finance Minister Dr Drabu during meeting in the Civil Secretariat on October 9, 2017 had briefed the media clarifying that Government would remove the pay anomalies with the implementation of 7th Pay Commission report.
In Jammu strong protest demonstration was held at under the leadership of Babu Hussain Malik besides Bharat Bhushan, Ravi Singh Bhau, Sukhbir Singh, Nazir Ahmed Bhat, Anil Mehtra, Munish Sharma, Yash Paul Sharma, Seva Ram Rathore, Gurmeet Singh, Rajinder Singh, Mohd Latief, Rohit Gorge, Farida Bano, Umar Jan and others. The leaders also addressed the gathering. They criticized the Government for ignoring their demand. They resolved to decide about the next course of action shortly.
