Cleanliness should be made part of daily life: IGP

JAMMU, Oct 2: As part of Seva Parv 2025, a Swachhta Abhiyaan was organized today at District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu to mark the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The event highlighted the importance of civic responsibility and environmental consciousness.
The cleanliness drive was led by IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti. Senior police and civil officers, including DIG JSK Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, senior officials from JMC, including Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav, Zonal SSPs, SPs, ASPs, SDPOs and DySPs, along with other police personnel, actively participated in the campaign. All joined hands to promote the spirit of cleanliness and service.
The initiative was held under the National “Swachhta Hi Seva” 2025 Movement. The drive covered office premises, residential quarters, parks, pathways, and public areas within and around the DPL.
Besides cleaning activities, awareness drives on sustainable hygiene and sanitation practices were also conducted.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Jammu BS Tuti appreciated the dedication of officers and personnel.
He said cleanliness should not be restricted to special occasions but made part of daily life.
“Swachhta is Seva, and service to the nation begins with discipline in our surroundings,” he remarked.
The campaign reflected not only a physical transformation of the premises but also a collective effort to spread the message of public service and responsibility.
The IGP underlined that such initiatives go a long way in instilling civic sense and pride among citizens.
The Swachhta Abhiyaan participants resolved to continue working towards a cleaner and greener environment in line with the national vision of development and sustainable growth.
