CJM directs police to register FIR in complaint filed by SAVE

JAMMU, Oct 2: In an application filed by Rumpy Madaan, Chairman SAVE, Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Ashwani Sharma has directed SHO Police Station Trikuta Nagar to register FIR and conduct investigation into alleged slaughtering of camels in Bathindi area of Jammu.
Rumpy Madaan, the Honorary Animal Welfare Officer of Animal Welfare Board of India had filed a complaint under Section 156 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code seeking direction to the SHO Police Station Trikuta Nagar for registration of criminal case against the accused persons.
In her complaint, she alleged that on August 23, 2018 in full public view camels were slaughtered in Bathindi area, which is not permissible under the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India Act.
The accused persons have committed offence under Sections 109, 114 & 429 of the Ranbir Penal Code, 36 of Police Act and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, as such, a criminal case is required to be registered against them and the accused persons are liable to be tried, prosecuted and punished in accordance with law, the complainant said.
