Cipla Pharma employees stage protests

SRINAGAR, Sept 10: Dozens of employees of Cipla Limited, a Mumbai based pharmaceutical company staged protest against the company’s ill treatment with its field employees in Kashmir.
The protesting employees alleged that the company was violating labour laws by not releasing salary on time and no other privileges while carrying its trade in Kashmir province. “Cipla Ltd, runs here only franchise, we want ethical operation of company in the Valley,” Tahir Ahmad Maqdoomi, President Kashmir Field Force of Cipla said.
He alleged that despite the tall claims of Government for boasting private sector in state, the companies are violating its norms while operating in the state.
“We appeal Government to look into the matter, otherwise our families have to sleep hungry in the coming days,” he said.
