VIJAYPUR, Dec 10: Cine-stars Mukesh Khanna and Mukesh Rishi today plunged into election campaign in favour of National Conference (NC) candidate, Surjeet Singh Slathia in Vijaypur Assembly Constituency and made a fervent appeal to the voters to vote him for peace, progress and development.
“Slathia has worked tirelessly for the development of this constituency which is discernible in each sector”, said Mukesh Rishi, son of soil, while addressing huge gatherings of enthusiastic crowd, carrying NC banners and raising slogans, at Kallah, Swankha, Nandpur and Vijaypur.
Rishi said that Slathia has given new dimension to development with focus on raising infrastructure and making over the grandeur of the township on the National Highway. He said vote for him will be support to the initiatives he has taken over the years to change the profile of the constituency.
“The ongoing democratic exercise is an opportunity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to repose their faith in secular ideals”, said Mukesh Khanna, adding that this is the time when the people should strive for a stable and strong Government.
He praised the uniqueness of J&K and said that entire nation is looking towards return of complete peace and tranquility in the State. “We are hopeful that dynamic leaders like Slathia will shoulder this responsibility with a sincerity of purpose”, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Slathia said his endeavour has all along been to strive for the betterment of the constituency. He vowed to steer the constituency to all round progress and development.
