CIED training course begins at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Feb 2: A 15-day intensive training course on Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (CIED) commenced at the Sher-I-Kashmir Police Academy here today under the guidance of the Director, SKPA.
A statement said a total of 51 officers and officials from different wings of Jammu and Kashmir Police are participating in the programme.
The specialized course is being conducted by an expert team from the National Security Guard (NSG) Training Centre, known for its expertise in counter-terrorism and bomb disposal training.
The course aimed at strengthening the operational readiness and professional skills of police personnel in dealing with IED-related threats.
The training will cover identification, detection, handling, neutralization and post-blast investigation of IEDs, along with standard operating procedures, safety measures and recent technological developments.
In his inaugural address, the Assistant Director (Outdoor) highlighted the growing threat posed by IEDs and stressed the need for well-trained police personnel to prevent such incidents, while appreciating the support and expertise provided by the NSG.
