SRINAGAR, Jan 12: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kashmir, the Community Information Centre (CIC) operators working in Rural Development Department (RDD) of J&K have appealed to the PM for his personal intervention to get their services regularized.
PM Modi is arriving here on Monday to inaugurate strategic Z-Morh tunnel at Sonamarg.
The CIC Operators, in a statement, highlighted the 2014 J&K Cabinet decision recognizing their contributions and approving regularization, followed by the creation of 172 Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts in 2016 under Government Order 320-RD & PR of 2016.
“These steps, supported by the Finance Department’s Empowered Committee and legal endorsements from the Advocate General and Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, remain unimplemented”, the statement read.
Surviving on a meagre monthly salary of Rs 10,000, the CIC Operators emphasized their advanced qualifications, including MCA, M.Sc and BE/B.Tech degrees and their recruitment through a transparent process in 2004.
