JAMMU, Mar 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Janipur area here today claimed to have arrested a habitual drug peddler with 20 grams of heroin.
Arshid Ahmed Mizag of Nowhatta, Rainawari, Srinagar, was arrested with the consignment by a team of Police Station Janipur when the former was on way to a court here for a hearing related to a previous case registered against him under the NDPS Act, a police official said.
Post arrest, the police official said that it came to the fore during the investigation that the accused was involved in selling narcotics for several years generating undue profits in the local area of Jammu.
Accordingly, the accused was arrested in case FIR number 31/2025 under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Janipur and further investigation started.
