Col. Sir R. N. Chopra Nursing Home in Jammu having been very active for years together in rendering medical and treatment facilities to the needy people but for a long time, precisely over four years now, it is non functional for reasons of renovation and repairs etc. However, looking to the surge in COVID infected persons and every resource being pooled in to create beds and other paraphernalia by the UT Government, the chances of starting a 100 bed facility or more in this Nursing Home affiliated to the GMC Jammu could be bright if the left out renovation work was completed soon.
Had all the aspects of such available resources been kept in mind and work needed on them completed in time , by now 150 beds with facilities of oxygen etc would have been readied in this Nursing Home . Anyway, one floor still in better condition and ”useable” , could be converted into a COVID ward and the existing arrangement there- either shifted to some other rooms or whatever arrangements made to facilitate creating of space for accommodating the incoming patients suffering from COVID virus . Since it is an issue of top priority in fighting an unprecedented challenge , speedy action is solicited.
