China suspends ban on exports of certain dual-use goods to US

BEIJING, Nov 9: China has suspended a ban on exports of several dual-use goods related to gallium, germanium, antimony, and superhard materials to the United States until November 27, 2026, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Sunday.

“Starting today and until November 27, 2026, the second paragraph of Notice No. 46 of 2024 issued by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (Notice on Strengthening Export Controls to the United States on Certain Dual-Use Goods) will be suspended,” the ministry said in a statement.

In December 2024, China issued Notice No. 46 to strengthen export controls on certain dual-use goods to the US in order to safeguard national security and interests. The second paragraph said that the export of goods related to gallium, germanium, antimony, and superhard materials to the US would be prohibited.

The notice also announced the introduction of stricter end-user and end-use checks on dual-use goods related to graphite exported to the US. (UNI)
