POONCH, Mar 10: A child died after he accidentally fell into a water tank in Mankote area of Mendhar Sub Division in Poonch district today.
Official sources said that incident took place at around 2.30 pm on Tuesday when 4-year-old, Zeeshan, son of Azhar Adil, resident of Mankote, was playing with other kids in the locality. He suddenly fell into an underground uncovered water tank.
As the parents came to know about the matter after being informed by other children, they rescued the child and rushed him to Sub-District Hospital Mendhar, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Later, SHO Mendhar, Habib Pathan also reached the hospital. After completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for last rites by the hospital authorities.
