Chief Secretary reviews implementation of Vibrant Village Programme in Ladakh

LEH, Jan 20 : The Chief Secretary, UT-Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, today chaired a meeting to review the implementation and progress of the Vibrant Village Programme (VVP).

During the meeting, a detailed presentation was delivered by the Deputy Commissioner/Nodal Officer, VVP, Romil Singh, on the components of the Vibrant Village Programme, including its focus areas, targeted outcomes, and the overall infrastructure profile of the villages covered under the programme.

Kundra also conducted a detailed review of the projects proposed and submitted under the VVP, along with the status of works approved so far.

The Chief Secretary directed that a comprehensive assessment of the infrastructure in the identified villages be carried out through the concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) to ensure an accurate, ground level evaluation and effective implementation of projects.

Further, Kundra reviewed the status of projects of the health department approved under convergence with the National Health Mission (NHM) and assessed the progress of initiatives of the Education department under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.

The meeting also discussed the construction of Craft Centres for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the programme, during which the Chief Secretary emphasised the need to ensure their proper functionality and utilisation for livelihood generation.
