JAMMU, Nov 14: Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Chief of Northern Command, paid a courtesy visit to Maj General (Retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal at the latter’s residence in Jammu and shared some pleasantries.
In more than hour-long discussion, the duo went over almost 75 years history of the J&K which started with Churchill’s plan of Op Gulmarg followed by Op Dutta Khel, which is still continuing even after four wars with Pakistan.
“It was like a rejuvenating tonic for me and perhaps, it is such visits which take care of my health, so grateful to him with all the blessings from the veterans to the Sindoor fighters, with blessings for successes in any such future endeavours. I know India is safe in the hands of these leaders and J&K is safe in the hands of these Generals,” said 97-year old Goverdhan Singh Jamwal.
Gen Jamwal also presented a book “Victory & Betrayal” to the Northern Army Commander, who admired the warmth and hospitality of the former.
