JAMMU, May 7: R K Chhibber, former Chairman of the J&K Bank, had a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and requested him for construction of road from main road to the Chhibber Biradri Dev-sthan, situated in village Kheri, tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri.
Submitting a memorandum, Chhibber said that basic earth work of the road, which is one km from the main road, has already been done and now the work pending is only laying of crushed stones and black topping.
“The Dev-sthan Mandir holds great religious significance for the Biradari of North India. Devotees from J&K as well as from Punjab, Himachal and Delhi visit the Dev-sthan regularly. People hold two big congregations, one in the month of December and 2nd in the month of April in which thousands of devotees gather at the Devsthan,” he informed.
However , he added, the absence of proper road has made access extremely difficult, particularly during the rainy days/monsoon season when the path becomes muddy and unsafe for travel.
Chhibber said that a well constructed road would not only facilitate safe and easy access to the devotees but also be beneficial for the locals residing in the adjoining villages.
He requested the DyCM to allocate funds for initiating the construction of road to the Devsthan and arrangements of water supply there.
The DyCM assured for taking up the matter on priority.
