POONCH, Aug 7: The holy silver mace (Chhari Mubarak) of Budha Amarnath Ji one depicting Lord Shiva and another Goddess Parwati left for the holy temple of Mandi from Dashnami Akhara here, early this morning amid tight security arrangements.
Taken under the leadership of Swami Vishwatma Anand Saraswati thousands of devotees and Sadhus reciting bhajans and chanting hymns joined the Chhari yatra. It reached holy shrine in the afternoon. Puja in the Dashnami Akhara temple, Poonch was performed with Vedic traditions by the devotees and Sadhus under the supervision of Swami Vishwatma Anand Saraswati Ji. Prominent citizens and leaders of various political parties and socio religious organisations were present on the occasion. Later the devotees also performed darshan of the holy mace.
Swami Ji also gave religious discourse on the occasion and highlighted the religious significance of Budha Amarnath and Chhari Mubarak. The J&K Police presented a Guard of Honour to holy mace on the occasion. The yatris left for the holy shrine on foot from Dashnami Akhara here.
Guard of honour was also presented to holy mace on reaching Budha Amarnath and later Chhari Mubarak was installed in the temple with traditional religious fervour and enthusiasm.
Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary and Aijaz Jan MLA also visited the Budha Amarnath shrine. Deputy CM paid obeisance at the temple and later he along with Jan met Swami Ji.
The authorities had made elaborate arrangements for the Chhari Mubarak right from Poonch to Mandi. Besides, tight security arrangements were also made right from Dashnami Akhara to Budha Amarnath temple and a big contingent of police was escorting the Chhari Mubarak.
The Chhari Mubarak which has been installed in the temple will return to Dashnami Akhara, Poonch on August 10. During three days of its installation the devotees can have the darshan of the holy mace in the temple.
