Cheat-cum-thief held, stolen gold ornaments recovered

REASI, Mar 15: Arnas Police has nabbed a cheat-cum thief and recovered stolen gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from his possession.
The accused, identified as Baldev Singh of Sawlakote Arnas, had stolen these gold ornaments from the residence of Balak Ram of Dharmari, by deceiving the victim.
The recovered items included three Nose Rings (Nath), three Demand Hinges (Maang Tikkas), one Necklace, one ring, a pair of ear rings (Wallian) and one pair of ear rings (Jhumkey).
The victim had last week approached Police Station Arnas with a written complaint that the accused Baldev Singh had stolen their gold ornaments by deceiving them on the name of performing some rituals on February 26. Initially, the victim family tried to trace the accused on their own but could not succeed.
Following the complaint, a case FIR No.17/2016 U/S 420/380/RPC was registered at Police Station Arnas. A Police team, led by SI Mohd Sharief, under the supervision of SHO Arnas, Inspector Arvind Sambyal, succeeded in apprehending the accused and recovering the stolen item on his disclosure.
Further investigation is going on and more recoveries are expected, Police said.
