Chartered Accountants XI, Income Tax XI share honours

JAMMU, Feb 11: J&K Branch of the NIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, hosted a friendly cricket match between Chartered Accountants and Income Tax Department at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
After a thrilling contest, the match finally ended in a tie and both the teams shared the honours.
Income Tax XI won the toss and elected to bat first. In their stipulated 20 overs, under the Captainship of SK Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, the Income Tax XI team scored 150 runs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Manjul Raizada and Vinod Sharma were the significant contributors, who scored 32 and 38 runs respectively. From the Income Tax XI, Hardeep Kumar took 2 wickets.
In reply, under the captainship of CA Vinod Gupta, Chartered Accountants XI also managed to score 150 runs in 20 overs by losing 6 wickets. CA Mithun Sharma and CA Vinod Gupta (Captain) scored splendid 38 runs each and CA Chetan Sharma and CA Nitish Gupta took 2 wickets each.
CA Nitish Gupta bowled splendidly and took 2 wickets and was declared as the Best Bowler, while CA Mithun Sharma scored 38 runs off 28 balls and was adjudged as the Best Batsman.
State President, BJP and MLA, Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) was the chief guest on the occasion, whereas, SK Sharma, Additional Commissioner Income Tax, J&K was the guest of honour.
Ruveda Salam, Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax also graced the occasion.
Former Chairman, J&K Branch of NIRC of the ICAI, CA Ashwani Khajuria, Vice-Chairman, CA Ajay K Gupta along with Executive Members CA Jatinder Jaswal, CA Shalay Razdan and CA Anish Abrol (Vice Captain) hosted the friendly match. CA. Sat Sharma (MLA) distributed the awards among the players of both sides.
Among spectators were a large number of Chartered Accountants, Income Tax Officials and their families.
