RAMBAN, July 9: Former Minister and president, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS), Gulchain Singh Charak toured different areas of Ramban and listened to problems of local populace.
Charak was accompanied by other members of the Sabha. At Chanderkote, Charak as a special guest attended a meeting of Sarpanchs, Panchs, Numberdars, Chowkidars and other prominent persons of the area, held under the chairmanship of Dharam Chand, president DSS, district Ramban.
Highlighting the problems of the area, the speakers demanded upgradation of High School Chanderkot established in 1980 to Higher Secondary level, as there is no HSS school in the radius of 15 KM. They also demanded upgradation of one of the five middle schools functioning in the two Panchyats of Saoni area as the students of these areas has to travel a long distance to reach the high school for getting the education of ninth class.

People also demanded that the whole area along the lake should be developed as mega tourist attraction which can substantially add to the economy of the area. They also stressed for development of tourists spots like Patnitop, Sanasar, Ladha Dhar, Surni Kund, Gala Dhar, Sarwa Dhar and Pogal Paristaan.
