Charak demands Sub Division for Bishnah

JAMMU, July 15:  Former Minister and senior Congress leader Gulchain Singh Charak has demanded creation of Sub Division for Bishnah.
In a press statement issued here today, Mr Charak demanded Sub Division for  Bishnah and Arnia tehsils with headquarters at Bishnah. He pointed out that both these tehsils, have approximately area of about 50 thousand acres  and population more than one lakh and 50 thousand. Sub Division Bishnah will not only cater to the needs of more than 33 revenue  villages of 28 Patwar Halqas  and 35 Panchyat Halqas but will have two tehsils, two blocks, 4 Niabats besides two Municipal Committees of Bishnah and Arnia towns. Out of four tehsils of Jammu district, Bishnah is the most deserving case as the offices of different departments and judiciary are already working there, Mr Charak maintained.
The Congress leader said this most important Revenue unit was started in 1957 as Niabat and then it was further upgraded to the tehsil status in 1980. It being the most important area of  two tehsils which cater to the  needs of such a vast agricultural and irrigated land scattered up to the Indo-Pak border which always remains the soft target of case-fire violations by Pakistan  and needs immediate attention.
