JAMMU, Feb 13: In order to discuss the preparatory arrangements of 25th Police Public Mela to be held in Jammu, the Chairperson J&K Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), K. Vijaya convened a meeting at Gulshan Ground here today. Besides PWWA members, the meeting was attended by arrangement committee for the Mela.
Addressing the meeting, Mrs. Vijaya stressed for collective measures for making the event more attractive. She said that joint efforts should be put in place to conduct the Mela in a befitting manner and assured cooperation from all members of PWWA.
Mrs. Vijaya sought reports from arrangement committee regarding different arrangements made by them and asked for synergy among all ranks related with the conduct of event.
Inspector General of Police, Armed Jammu, Shafqat Ali Watali, who is the Chairman of the arrangement committee, apprised the meeting about the arrangements made by them. He said that different units of the organisation would be establishing their stalls during the Mela and display various items representing all regions of the State. He said that space to the stall holders would be provided at the venue so that they could start their work in advance.
Chairperson PWWA asked the arrangement committee to monitor and ensure that quality products are put for sale at reasonable rates. She also asked for maintaining hygiene in and around the venue, besides providing amusement items so that the visitors could enjoy the event. She said that specialities from all the region of the State would make Mela more attractive.
Mrs. Vijaya asked the arrangement committee to chalk out a plan for entrance and exit of the visitors to make the event hassle free. Identification of parking slots outside the venue should be looked into and sufficient space for amusement items should be provided, she said. Cash rewards among the children participating in painting competition should be distributed on the spot.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Staff Officer to DIG Jammu, Rajnesh Pran, AIG (Welfare) PHQ, Rajeshwar Singh, Staff Officer to IGP Jammu, Ashok Kumar, Commandant IRP 15th Bn. Anita Sharma, DySP (Welfare) PHQ, Madhu Bandral, DySP SDRF, Sunil Kumar Kesar and other police officers.
