JAMMU, Nov 15: Chairman Public Health Sanitation Committee (PHSC) of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Narinder Singh Jamwal has said that even the best development of any area is meaningless unless the optimum standards of sanitation and cleanliness are not maintained.
During a visit of Ward No. 53 (Trikuta Nagar) to take stock of grievances of the people there, Jamwal was apprised by the people that there is a dire need for maintaining optimum sanitation level in all the areas for which it is necessary to stop breeding of mosquitoes and other insects.
They said that there are various spots in the Ward where heaps of garbage has become healthy breeding grounds for mosquitoes which need immediate attention as cases of Dengue are on an increase in Jammu.
After listening to the issues of the area, the Chairman directed JMC staff to clean the drains and lanes of the area at a faster pace and ensure that the same is followed by continuous fogging of the area besides ensuring proper disposal of garbage.
Lucky Puri, Councillor Ward No. 54; Mandal President, Praveen Kerni along with state executive member Shailja Gupta and Rajni Rohmetra, Sahil Mahajan, Gandhi Nagar Mandal Secretary; Vijay, Ex-Ward President; Ganesh Naggar, Suresh, Suram Singh, Prerna Nanda, Sorabh Sharma, Col Dutta (Rtd), S. Hardeep Singh, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Sanitary Officer Rajinder, Transport Officer Purshotam and others were also present on the occasion.
