JAMMU, Feb 10: Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) of Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation today organized a day-long training programme on the theme Climate Change and Best Practices to protect the Ground Water Resources of J&K State at The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu under its Jal Kranti Abhiyan.
Ajay Gupta, FIE; Chairman IEI Jammu Local Centre was the chief guest and SK Shukla, Director Central Water Commission, Jammu was the guest of honour during the inaugural function.
While speaking on the occasion, Ajay Gupta emphasized on the protection of Ground Water Resources of J&K State and effect of the climate change while SK Shukla stressed on the protection of surface and ground water resources of the State by adopting suitable and best practices.
Earlier, JN Bhagat, Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board, Jammu in his welcome address highlighted the overall ground water scenario of J&K State and practices adopted to protect ground water resources with respect to climate change.
The training was imparted to Scientists, Engineers and field experts from State Government organizations.
