JAMMU, Jan 20: The Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (CGPWA) Jammu has officially inaugurated its new office at the Wazarat Road Estates Complex, situated behind the Chief Secretary’s official residence. The inauguration ceremony was held in a simple yet impressive manner, with Kuldeep Khoda, former Director General of Police (DGP) & Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC), and President of CGPWA, along with S.S. Wazir, Patron and former Additional Director General (ADG), formally inaugurating the office.
Among the dignitaries present were former DGP Dr. Ashok Bhan and K.B. Jandial, former senior IAS officer and General Secretary of CGPWA. The new office was thoughtfully decorated, adding to the significance of the occasion.
In his address, Khoda described the inauguration as a momentous occasion, marking the successful culmination of the Association’s long-standing efforts. He expressed profound gratitude on behalf of pensioners to the Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, for making the establishment of the office a reality. He recalled his previous meeting with the Chief Secretary where various issues related to Central Government pensioners were discussed, resulting in suitable directions being issued.
Wazir, in his speech, complimented the CGPWA team, especially Khoda and Jandial, for their dedication in addressing the issues of pensioners and ensuring their welfare. He praised their collective efforts that led to the successful establishment of the office.
Dr. Bhan congratulated CGPWA for the remarkable work it had done in addressing pensioners’ concerns. He commended the Association for establishing its office in a prestigious location, which he said reflected the importance of its work.
Jandial thanked the officers of the Estates Department for their support in setting up the office. He also provided an update on various ongoing matters, including the relocation of Wellness Centre-1, the transfer of land at Thanger to CGHS (Government of India), and issues with J&K Bank.
J K Vaid, who also spoke at the event, raised the important issue of family pensions. He stressed the need for pension banks to be sensitized to the new, pro-pensioner rules and initiatives introduced by the Modi Government.
Khoda concluded the ceremony by announcing that CGPWA’s Republic Day function will be held in the newly inaugurated office complex this year. A large number of CGPWA members attended the event, marking the occasion as a significant milestone for the Association.
