CGPWA elects new body

SRINAGAR, Aug 23: Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (CGPWA) Kashmir elected its new office bearers for next three years in the closely contested elections here today.
In the unanimous choice, retired IAS officer Muhammad Shafi Pandit was elected as president while Broadcaster writer and former ADG DD Dr Rafeeq Masoodi was elected as vice president. GN Kanth (retired IAS officer), GH Kango (former chief conservator of Forests), GM Wani (former senior official of P&T Department), were declared elected as general secretary, treasurer and secretary, respectively.
Retired IAS officer GJ Nahvi was the election officer. Newly elected president Muhammad Shafi Pandit requested all the Central Government pensioners to become members as early as possible and avail various facilities and benefits including free medicines and consultations at its wellness centre Sanatnagar.
The newly elected body assured all the members that it will try to live upto their expectations and hoped that they will carry forward the superb work done by it in the past.
