RAJOURI, Jan 15: Chief Education Officer Rajouri, Bishamber Dass, conducted a surprise visit to Govt Middle School Katha, Zone Baljrallan and suspened a teacher.
The visit brought to light serious lapses in staff attendance and duty compliance, prompting immediate action against the defaulters. During the surprise inspection, it was revealed that out of six teachers posted at the school, only one teacher, Pankaj, was present. Among the remaining staff, significant irregularities were identified.
Tariq Iqbal, who was deputed to attend a three-day orientation program on Holistic Progress Card (HPC) as per DIET order No. DIET/R/10188-91 dated 11-01-2025, had not attended the training program. Further, it was found that Wali Mohammad, another teacher, had signed the attendance register in the morning but had left the school premises without any authorization.
Taking cognizance of these irregularities, CEO placed Wali Mohammad under suspension with immediate effect. The salary of Tariq Iqbal has been withheld until further orders, pending an inquiry into his failure to comply with the deputation order. District Education Planning Officer, Rajouri, has been appointed as the inquiry officer.
Additionally, the I/C Principal DIET Rajouri has been instructed to submit a report clarifying why Tariq Iqbal was allowed to mark attendance at the training after 3:20 PM and to identify those responsible for disregarding the rules and regulations.
