Centre allocates Rs 998 cr to J&K, Rs 80 cr to Ladakh under PMGSY for 2025-26

JAMMU, July 13: The Union Ministry of Rural Development has allocated a Central share of Rs 998 crores to Jammu and Kashmir and Rs 80 crores to the Union Territory of Ladakh under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for the financial year 2025-26.
The allocation is part of the Centre’s total Rs 16,647.77 crores disbursement to all the States and Union Territories aimed at improving the rural road connectivity.
According to the Ministry’s communication to the State and UT authorities, the allocations are indicative and based on road and bridge work targets and past expenditure trends.
“The fund distribution may be revised depending on project progress and adherence to the Department expenditure guidelines,” read the communication.
Further, as per the communication, the State of Maharashtra has been provided the highest Rs 1300 crores’ allocations followed by Rs 1100 crores allocated to Himachal Pradesh, and Rs 1000 crores each to Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

As far as minimum allocation is concerned, the UT of Puducherry has been allocated Rs 2 crores followed by Rs 5 crores to Haryana, and Rs 20 crores each to Andaman & Nicobar Islands and NE State of Manipur.
While Rs 600 Crores’ allocation has been made each to Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Odisha, Rs 800 crores each have been allocated to Assam, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan.
An amount of Rs 100 crores has been allocated to Gujarat, Rs 50 crores to Karnataka, Rs 300 crores to Kerala, Rs 250 crores to Madhya Pradesh, Rs 300 crores to Mizoram, Rs 400 crores to Nagaland, Rs 175 crores to Sikkim, Rs 346.77 crores to Punjab, Rs 400 crores to Telangana, Rs 300 crores to Tripura, and Rs 700 crores to Uttarakhand.
Similarly, a total of Rs 1000 crores have been allocated to 9 States under the Road Connectivity Project for Left Wing Extremism (LWE) Affected Areas (RCPLWEA) scheme for the year 2025-26 with the State of Jharkhand receiving maximum share of Rs 400 crores and Uttar Pradesh minimum Rs 10 crores.
As far as the indicative allocation under the PM-JANMAN or the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan scheme is concerned, Rs 1260 crores have been allocated to 10 States with Chhattisgarh receiving the highest share of Rs 520 crores and Maharashtra minimum of Rs 10 crores.
