Central team tours 3 distts

JAMMU, Sept 4: A high-level seven-member Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) deputed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for assessment of flood-related situation in the Jammu region today visited Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts and interacted with the district administration and people hit by flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains and cloudbursts.

The team headed by Col KP Singh, Advisor (Operations and Communication), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), MHA, got detailed assessment of the situation including damages to Government infrastructure and civilian property.
The team will tour Udhampur, Reasi and Ramban districts tomorrow.
The team visited various areas which suffered heavy losses in flash floods and rains.
The team will submit its report to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on its return to New Delhi based on which the Central Government could announce relief and rehabilitation package for civilians hit by the floods and reconstruction of infrastructure damages.
