Central, State Govts ignoring displaced pandits: ASKPC

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Apr 5: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) accused both State and Central Governments of ignoring the Kashmiri Pandits leading an exiled life for last 27 years now.
In a statement issued here, today president of the ASKPC Ravinder Raina advocate said that the problems of Pandits have compounded day by day and both the Governments at Centre and in the State are mute spectators to it.
He said the community does not see any ray of hope to its permanent settlement at a one place in the Valley as per its geo-political aspirations.  Maintaining that KPs are patriots to core who always stood by the cause of the country, he said it is strange that successive Governments played with their cause as no steps during last 27 years were taken for their permanent rehabilitation in their homeland.
He said no proper representation was given to the community in the Legislature since 1975 by the successive State Governments.
Raina said though community had pined high hopes in Prime Minister Narendra Modi but he too could not take any concrete steps in permanent rehabilitation of the exiled community at a single place in Valley though his Government is going to complete three years in office next month.
The successive union Governments failed to provide services in Central Government departments to the community youth and the PM’s employment package has proved a joke with the community. Moreover the migrant youth serving in the Valley are also facing many problems due to lack of proper facilities and security from the Government, he added.
